Feedback from teachers and school leaders I have worked with…

Gina | Lead Teacher - 4th Grade (American system)

Alex Thrall is an extraordinary educator and leader who completely transformed my perspective on teaching and communication. As the principal of a brand-new school, he set the foundation for a community built on genuine connection, mutual respect, and meaningful dialogue. Alex has an exceptional gift for helping educators connect deeply with themselves, their colleagues, and their students, fostering an environment where everyone feels seen and heard.  Alex’s guidance empowered us to focus on positive, impactful relationships in the classroom.

His expertise in differentiation and practical activities is unmatched. His strategies are not only effective but also incredibly accessible for busy educators. Without a doubt, he was the best administrator I’ve ever worked with, and I wholeheartedly recommend his consultancy services to anyone looking to elevate their approach to education.

Phida | Teacher | Religious Studies, Chemistry, Biology - Year 7-13

Mr. Alex Thrall is a phenomenal teacher trainer and it was an honour for me to be trained by him. Though I did a two-year teacher training programme, B. Ed (Bachelors in Education), I still needed to learn about teaching when I joined a new school with Cambridge curriculum, because I was trained in the Indian curriculum. I was anxious when I first started teaching and learning the new system but to my relief and delight, I met Mr. Alex.

He generously offered to guide me and we would sit for a couple of hours weekly discussing teaching and classroom management.

I can say with certainty that what I did not learn in my two-year teacher training programme, I learned from Mr. Alex in two weeks. He taught me what teaching and learning truly is which helped me approach the classroom from a different perspective and also gave me a lot of confidence to stand in front of the students. Moreover, another reason why I truly appreciate his mentorship is that he never discarded the formal training I had but rather incorporated it into the teaching that he was giving me.

I have grown as a teacher and my teaching has become better since I received guidance from Mr Alex Thrall. I am eternally grateful to him and for him.

Anna | Teacher - Reception / Year 1

Alex Thrall was a breath of fresh air to our school. His enthusiasm for education inspired us all and the suggestions he gave were easy to implement. Alex is unthreatening and works with teachers from where they are at, giving something to think about for everyone. We felt thoroughly rejuvenated by this unique and passionate educator!

Within numeracy specifically, Alex motivated us to ask deeper, open ended questions. He also stretched us to go through the concrete and pictorial before attempting the abstract. These techniques have helped deepen both the teachers’ and students’ enjoyment of the subject.

Connor | Teacher - Year 6

Working alongside Alex for two years as a fellow teacher was one of the most transformative experiences of my career. I learned more from him about teaching, life, and connection than I did throughout my university years.  Alex’s patience, open-mindedness, and deep empathy make him not only an incredible teacher but also a very effective coach and mentor. I am lucky to have worked with him, and I’m confident his future endeavours will reflect the same warmth, wisdom, and generosity he brings to everything he does.

Sasha | Teacher - Year 4 & English Leader

I had the pleasure of working alongside Alex for two years and witnessed first-hand his passion and dedication to teaching and learning. Alex possesses an impressive knowledge of the curriculum and a genuine commitment to his students’ well-being. His ability to integrate mindfulness practices in the classroom fostered a positive, supportive environment, helping students not only excel academically but also develop essential life skills. Alex was also always supportive and helpful to all staff and I could always go to him for valuable advice about my own teaching. Alex’s care for each student’s growth and happiness was truly inspiring, and I learned a great deal from his innovative approaches and compassionate teaching style. It was a privilege to work with such a talented and caring educator.

Student feedback…

Sungwon | Student - Year 13

In our boarding school, we had these international guests (IG) who came for one semester each to volunteer and help us.

Mr Alex was my IG for my last year of my high school and in my 7 years of this boarding school, I must say he was the most influential person to not only me but to our whole senior class. Though some of the students had different ideas and beliefs, they would never shy away from a chance to have a conversation with him because he could enrich our thoughts and mind with deep and inspiring questions and ideas.

He was a like strong rubber, strong enough to be flexible and handle students with diverse ideas and opinions.

He was also one of the strongest men I have ever met. He showed us how it takes more courage and strength to express our feelings as a growing young man and how that is so important for our mental health.

When I met him, I was in a graduating class, full of chaos, lacking order. I felt like a man lost in the desert, feeling scared, anxious and confused about my next step after high school, where to go and what to do, not because I didn’t have a way but because there were so many ways that I could possibly go. However, he taught me that I didn’t have to feel guilty of making a ‘wrong choice’ - What even is a ‘wrong’ choice? How can something be completely wrong? He questioned me in a compassionate way.

When he helped me find my strengths, he did it in a way where he didn’t define it for me but just gently shined light on my different strengths and guided me in the process of binding it.

All of my friends and I will confess with full certainty that Mr Alex was so much more than a teacher to each of us. He was a mentor, true educator and a passionate and empathetic soul.

When I have a child in the future and I get a chance to send my child to Mr Alex’s classroom, I have a full confidence that he will be patient, kind, curious and passionate to help my child grow up holistically, with love, wisdom and strength.

Josh | Student - Year 13

Mr Thrall worked as a dorm support in my final year of school. When I first saw him, I remember thinking, "Who is this guy?" Later on, I realised that he's actually one of the most down-to-earth people I have ever come across. You see, when I met him, I wasn't doing too well as anxiety had got a firm hold on me. He taught me how to deal with it, helping me, preparing me for the future, so now if I ever had another panic attack, I know what to do. I owe him a lot and I will forever be grateful for his guidance.
